About Me

Emily Wickham

  • Hi, I’m Emily Wickham, the face behind a small‑town, small‑business focused media management service.

I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, community connection, and helping meaningful work get seen. Long before social media became what it is today, I was immersed in communication and content creation; running our school newspaper and yearbook in high school, then working at my college library where I helped support and organize their social media presence.

As an adult, I experienced the real world power of social media firsthand while building my own very successful pet sitting business in Phelps County. While the hands‑on work paid the bills, the part I truly loved was the behind‑the‑scenes work: branding, consistency, visibility, client connection, and building trust through online presence. I saw clearly how being active and recognizable online directly impacted bookings, referrals, and long‑term growth.

Since then, I’ve helped multiple small businesses grow through social media, including my mom’s massage and essential oil business, her upcoming book launch, and a large, ongoing project to transform our family farm into a Midwest escape experience. Each project has reinforced the same truth: when people feel connected to your story, they want to support your business.

I created this media management business specifically for very small businesses. The kind that don’t need flashy agencies or big budgets, but do need consistency, clarity, and someone who understands their world. I work with businesses similar in size to my own pet sitting business (and those just above or below it), because I understand the realities, limitations, and opportunities that come with running a small operation in a small town.

  • I understand small towns. I understand wearing multiple hats. I understand running a business where reputation matters, word‑of‑mouth is powerful, and budgets are real.

Social media shouldn’t feel overwhelming, fake, or like a full‑time job on top of everything else you already do. My goal is to make your business visible, approachable, and trustworthy, without losing the heart of what makes it yours.

  • • Real experience growing and marketing my own successful small business

    • A background in writing, organization, and visual storytelling

    • A deep understanding of rural communities and small‑town markets • A practical, budget‑friendly approach to social media

    • A focus on connection, consistency, and authenticity- not trends for the sake of trends

  • I don’t believe in cookie cutter content or overcomplicated strategies. I believe in:

    • Showing up consistently

    • Being clear about what you offer

    • Building trust over time

    • Making your business feel human and approachable

    • Meeting people where they already are

Social media works best when it reflects real life and that’s exactly how I help businesses show up online.

  • • Authentic connection over perfection

    • Consistency over complexity

    • Community over competition

    • Practical growth, not empty metrics

    • Supporting the backbone of small towns: local businesses

If you’re a small business owner who knows social media matters but doesn’t want it to consume your life you’re exactly who I built this for.

  • To help small businesses feel confident, seen, and supported through intentional, realistic social media management- without the pressure, overwhelm, or high costs of traditional marketing agencies.
